<p>Jim Peterman attended the East-West Philosophy Conference in Hawaii held May 16-24 at the East-West Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii. Peterman's paper, entitled "You should be ashamed of yourself," examined the relation between early Confucian teachings about the centrality of shame in a healthy moral orientation to recent theories of restorative justice. This international conference, held once every five years, drew scholars from all over the world, but most especially from the Pacific Rim.</p>

The Interlocutor solicits submissions from undergraduate philosophers around the world and seeks to publish undergraduate work of high-quality.</p>
